Our Services

Consultation

Each patient needs to have a current referral letter from the general practitioner or referring specialist to claim benefits through Medicare.

The First Visit

On the first visit, each patient is asked to fill in an information form including details of Medicare and private health insurance.

We advise that patients bring along a summary of health history including details of current and past medical and surgical problems, allergy history, list of current medications, recent imaging and blood test results.

Second Opinion

We are happy to provide second opinions to help clarify any issues regarding diagnosis, investigation and treatment in relation to a wide range of female pelvic disorders.

Research

Doctors at CARE are regularly involved in clinical research projects. Patients attending care may be invited to participate in clinical studies which are related to their problems. The decision on whether to participate is entirely up to each patient. Refusal to be involved in clinical research does not interfere with the management.

Training and Education

CARE conducts an internationally recognised, integrated endoscopic training program directed at specialists, training registrars and perioperative nursing staff. The training takes place at 3 teaching institutions affiliated with the University of Sydney – the Sydney Clinical Skills & Simulation Centre, North Shore Private and the Mater Hospitals.
At times, patients may therefore be asked to consent for live surgery transmission for the purpose of education. CARE ensures that the standard of care and privacy of patients is not affected in any way. The decision on whether to participate is entirely up to each patient.

Seminars

CARE may run free public information seminars from time to time to inform the public and referring doctors of contemporary clinical, surgical or research topics.

Fees

Consultation fees are payable on the day by cash, cheque, visa or mastercard. Additional fees may arise from additional tests where indicated. A proportion of all fees can be claimed through Medicare.

Surgical fees : an estimation of costs is provided before surgery and an actual account is sent out after surgery. A proportion of surgical fees can be claimed through Medicare and private health insurance.
